Thank You Art Walk 2013

Sarnia Art Walk marked the first time (outside of my Hockey’s Masked Men tour) that my art work went on display in public. For the longest time everyone believed that I was just a sports artist – and so I set aside just over two months of time to prepare charcoal drawings, pastel pieces, watercolour and oil paintings to show how wide my range of artistic abilities stretches. I’d like to thank the organizers for putting the event together, and I’d especially like to thank everyone who came on out to see what was going on – and to those that entered into my tent to get a closer look.

It’s officially been one year that I’ve been working on my artwork – from Hockey’s Masked Men, to Finnigan Mulligan Cartoons, to all of the other drawings and paintings that were on display at this weekends Art Walk.

This was my first art show where I was trying to sell my works and I’ve learned a lot from it I believe. I’m always keeping an open ear to my audience and am willing to listen to advice and ‘interests’ that passerbyers may have. In doing so, I realized just how many people asked to purchase the framed Collection of my Hockey’s Masked Men paintings that I had on my wall. I wasn’t selling them, as they were a limited edition set of hockey cards I had put together for Kitcheners Hockeytown earlier in the year. However, with such a popularity I’ve decided to remodel the collection and make prints of them. I’m calling them the “Hockey’s Masked Men Collection”, and the two prints will be sold for $ ___TBA___ as a combined pair. The prints will be 16X20″ for those interested in searching for frame sizes. An example of the Collection can be found below.

Besides that, I would like to welcome everyone to my website. I update it very frequently; sometimes every day, sometimes not. But there is usually something new to see every single week – so you will have a reason to bookmark my site and come back to it time and time again. This summer I will be continuing with my Hockey’s Masked Men paintings, setting out to paint 14-16 new ones! This means that I will be turning out a ton of new goalie mask paintings in the coming months. I will also be doing other works as they come too.

I use this blog to show off everything that is new as it arrives, and I sometimes speak my mind about art related topics. I post twitter thoughts almost every day (but never too much so that I’m not bothering people) with interesting thoughts about my craft. You can follow me at: https://twitter.com/Slots_Art . I also have a facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/SlotsArtStudio?ref=ts&fref=ts , which is pretty much a duplication of this website, though I find that some people like to go through it instead. So it exists.

I would also like to mention once more that I do commission work. If you have an image in your head you would like to see put on paper, or family members you would like to have drawn, or your pets… or house… car, boat, plants… by all means send me an email: Michael@slotsartstudio.com and we can work out the details.

Please enjoy this website. I work really hard on the artwork inside.
