Well, it was Canada Day, now it’s Independence Day as well.

I’m here in my studio working on a James Reimer goalie mask painting. I’ve mentioned many times before that blue is the worst colour to paint with (in oil), and that white has it’s own frustrations. Well, this mask is entirely blue and white (for the most part). It isn’t fun. But, not to fret, it’s only a challenge. Each mask has it’s own challenges. It just so happens that my last two paintings have been the hardest ones yet. I think I’m going to play it safe and do a simple one next time and give myself a break. As for now, I want to get this one right. It deserves to be done right.

Happy holidays to everyone. I just thought I’d let people know that I’m still alive and working away. The painting may be hard, but the music I listen to on the side is ever so sweet. So I can’t complain too much.
