Here and There

Just a quick reminder to all those following me – that this Friday I will be in St. Catharine’s exhibiting my artwork at the Niagara Ice Dogs home game at 7pm. I’ve been looking forward to this date since my last show on the first of this year. It’s always exciting to put my work on display, meet and talk to new people and see a new hockey arena. It’s fascinating seeing how each facility is run before, during, and after the games. Each team has their own system worked out that is quite interesting to observe. Hope to see some people out there. Say hello and let me know if you do.

And back in my studio I’m continuing to paint my Golden Goal watercolour picture. I’m a bit slower this week, I had some delays and a lot of emails to get through. But, I thought I’d give everyone another update on how it looks. Please keep in mind that it is still unfinished. A lot of the times when people see my work before it’s done they comment on the fact that they don’t see where it’s going, or if I meant to do this or that. Yes, I see what you mean, and believe me, I’m my biggest critic. But, you must trust me on the way I work. Usually my paintings look quite silly for the expanse of me working on them… and then magically all at once, BAM, it just looks good and finished. Remember, with watercolour you have to plan ahead and slowly build your colours up one by one. But I do believe it’s important, and fascinating, to see a piece of artwork midway through instead of always just seeing a completed image. Anyways, here it is so far:
