In-case you were wondering what I’ve been working on lately, here is a watercolour painting I’ve been leaning over for the past week. It’s not so much that it’s hard to paint, as it is painting ‘around’ the little details. The real time consuming part is figuring out how to paint the players faces correctly, and how to figure out where each logo goes on their chest, arms, gloves, helmets, skates, sticks and everything. There’s a lot of advertisement which I don’t think I should ignore. But it’s ever so small to paint. Most of it you won’t even realize is there unless you actually look closely at it. Also, I hate painting blue. I’ve always said this, but man, I really don’t like painting blue. It’s not fun. Red is lovely though.
Probably spend another week painting the goalie, Iginla, the ice surface and the crowd…. oh, and the sticks that I’ve left blank so far. I just don’t feel like dealing with them just yet, don’t ask me why, I’m not quite sure. Some are white, some are black, some have a ton of detail work on them and are on weird angles. I just don’t want to think about them yet. So I’m not.
PS, this photograph doesn’t represent how nice the colouring and shading really is. It’s the best I can do for now.
